Mosab Hassan Yousef is one of the most popular and richest Autobiographer who was born on May 5, 1978 in Ramallah, United States. According to Yousef, he provided intelligence on condition that “targets” would not die but be arrested. This led to several key Palestinian leaders being detained, including Ibrahim Hamid (a Hamas commander on the West Bank), and Marwan Barghouti. Yousef also claims to have stopped a plot to assassinate Shimon Pessos, the then foreign minister and later President, in 2001. His former Shin Bet officer said that many people owe him their life and didn’t know it.

At an “End Times Prophecy” conference in 2010, hosted by California-based evangelist Greg Laurie, Yousef told the crowd in attendance that Islam is “the biggest lie in human history”, and the “God of Islam is the biggest terrorist”. He further suggested at the conference that the Quran should not be legal in the United States (“banned on American soil”).

Partially as a result of this, Immigration Court Judge Richard J. Bartolomei, Jr., ruled on June 30, 2010, that Yousef would be allowed to remain in the United States after being fingerprinted and passing a routine background check.

According to his story Yousef met a British missionary who introduced him to Christianity in 1999. Yousef began to embrace Christianity between 1999 and 2000. He was secretly baptized by a Christian tourist in Tel Aviv in 2005. In 2007, he left the West Bank to go to the United States. He spent some time in San Diego where he joined The Barabbas Road Church.

Since his 1997 release from prison, Yousef has been considered the Shin Bet’s most reliable source of information in the Hamas leadership. He earned the nickname “Green Prince”, which is the color of the Islamist group’s flag. “Prince” comes from his heritage as the son one of the movement’s founders. His intelligence provided to Israel resulted in the discovery of many Hamas cells and the prevention of numerous suicide bombings or assassination attempts against Jews. Although he claimed he didn’t inform for money, he said that his motives were ideological and spiritual and that he wanted to save lives. To discredit any suspicions of collusion, the Shin Bet organized an arrest attempt. They told the Israel Defense Forces that they would launch an operation to arrest him. Then, they provided intelligence which allowed him to escape at the very last moment. He then went into hiding for his entire career.

In August 2008, Yousef publicly revealed his Christianity, and renounced Hamas and the Arab leadership, thereby endangering himself and exposing his family in Ramallah to persecution. Yousef has also claimed that his aim was to bring peace to the Middle East; he hopes to return to his homeland when there is peace.
