Eugenio Leal is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on May 13, 1954 in Toledo, Spain. A Spain international for a single year. Leal played for Spain in the 1978 World Cup.
Leal received his first of 13 cap for Spain on April 16, 1977, with the 0-1 loss away against Romania in the 1978 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Six months later during the same game and against the same team, he scored the 2-0 victory in Madrid.
In Carriches, Province of Toledo and Castilla-La Mancha. Leal completed his early career at Atletico Madrid. After switching between his first-team and amateur reserves at the beginning of the club, he was then transferred to fellow La Liga team Sporting de Gijon and then returned at the Vicente Calderon Stadium late into the 1973-74 season to participate in for the Copa del Rey since foreign players could not be qualified for the event. He began playing football as a forward. However, his manager and co-player Luis Aragones reconverted him in midfielder.
In a derby against Real Madrid in 1979, Leal suffered a knee ligament injury following a challenge from Juan Sol from which he never fully recovered. He left the Colchoneros in June 1982 after only a combined eight games in two years and, after a few months at CE Sabadell FC to help them prevent relegation from Segunda División, which eventually did not befell, he retired at the age of 29.
